Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson is an artist that originated in a group called the Jackson 5.They where a family of Singers and musicians that where popular in the 1960s and lasted right up till 1989. Michael Jackson was often seen as the real star though and started his solo career in 1971 while still a member of the Jackson 5ive. With the release of Thriller (his sixth studio album) he became a dominant figure on the pop scene, which was mainly due to the music videos that went along with the singles. It has been said that this album helped turn the music video into an art for and develop it into a promotional tool. Thriller is widely regarded to be the best selling album of all time.

Michael also starred as the scarecrow in the film ‘The Wiz’ (sort of a modern day version of the Wizard of Oz). Michael Jackson accidently broke his nose during a dance routine and after the operation complained of breathing difficulties. This led to him changing surgeons and to undergo many more operations on his nose.

In the early eighties Michael Jackson’s skin colour started to become paler, this was reported to be because of skin bleaching, but it’s actually due to him suffering from vitiligo and lupus. These skin conditions make him very sensitive to light and the treatments further lighten his skin. He also wears pancake makeup to even out blotches in his skin colour which can make him appear very pale indeed. Having done many good things for charity, including donating album profits, I would say Michael Jackson has done a lot of good.
